View Public Input on TCI-P

As a senior who currently cannot afford to purchase and maintain a vehicle, I support the TCI-P. Public transportation needs to be ubiquitous, affordable, and accessible to all Vermonters, especially seniors and low-income folks. Public transportation can be electric; not everyone can afford to purchase an electric vehicle, so this will help the environment. It provides a way for people to get to jobs not located in their immediate environs, and connects communities, encouraging shopping, visiting family and friends, and attendance at events that currently require a vehicle to reach. Public transportation also needs to be advertised and encouraged, so Vermonters know it is available and affordable.

I am in support of TCI initiatives to make transportation cleaner. Higher gas prices are necessary and have been too low for too long.

I am writing in support of Vermont joining the TCI-P. Transportation is Vermont's single largest source of greenhouse gas emissions, and it is the second-largest expense for Vermont households. Let's join the program and use the funds to give Vermonters better transit and other transportation options. Driving solo is burdening our finances and burdening the climate.

The TCI-P is crucial to reducing our impact on the planet since transportation is one of the biggest challenges Vermonters have to reducing their impact. With such a rural state, we need to get creative with how we can reduce our impact while transporting ourselves from location to location. TCI-P heavily supports this idea, and would be great to see it get passed.

I’m opposed to Virginia joining the TCI. It will cost consumers and businesses too much at the gas pump.

Just another reason to leave this God forsaken state since the Democrats took over. More bulls**t on the citizens with nothing in return.

If the level of carbon pumped into our air by fossil fuels is not curtailed greatly and very soon, there will be no air left for us, as well as lots of other living beings to breath.

There is NOTHING else more important than protecting the air that we breathe and the planet on which we reside. Human beings can change, but to do so, we must put aside greed and selfishness, and make solid changes that protect the Earth and all its inhabitants, great and small. In other words, we must EVOLVE. Transportation must change. Fossil fuels are endangering our welfare, our air, and our lands. We need clean cars, we need better public transportation, we need to get dirty automobiles/trucks off the roads, and increase investments in an equitable, cleaner, and more resilient transportation system. The transportation sector accounts for HALF of Virginia’s carbon footprint, making it our largest contributor by far to climate change, thus, here is where we must begin to change. I hope that the human race is smart enough to act on this. This is our future.
