You people are a f*ing disgrace and saddling people that work for a living with this tax is a joke. If I ran my business the way you f*ing knit wits run this state I would get fired. Everyone of you should be voted out of office for laziness and stupidity.

Any tax related to a carbon tax or fuel tax that is not spent on roads or bridges is a rip off.
TCI is another tax against hard working sales people we need to drive to make a living. We get nothing in return.
I will think about this next time I vote. Your drink too much global warming cool aid.

I feel that this is so unfair. Yes I am all for lowering the use of fossil fuel fuel but not this way. Why should those who can't afford these electric vehicles be forced to pay higher gas prices. That is a stupid idea. Not everyone can afford these vehicles even with what is being offered. We should pay the gas price the way it is now. It's already quite expensive as it is. This needs to be scrapped and thought through again and not ar the expense of Mainers.

This tax is a fraud. It is simply feel good legislation that imposes additional taxes without any benefits. Our politicians can only think in terms of taxes and power. I already pay enough to register vehicles in the State of Maine. I don't need to pay even more in gas taxes for no reason other than to get more of our money.

We all must face the future and the inevitable changes coming with Climate Change/Global Warming. One area is transportation. Public transport must be made available, must be user friendly, must be affordable.

"The United States constitutes 5% of the world population and contributes to 22% of world’s carbon emission." It is crucial that our state takes control of the climate crisis immediately. These are pathetic statistics for a country that is one of the most developed in the world.

The effects of climate change are having a dangerous impact OUR environment. We have seen astronomical increases in sea levels, hurricanes, wild fires, melted arctic ice, and other natural disasters because of climate change. If we do not do anything about this disaster we are rapidly killing off forestation, wildlife, and HUMAN LIFE, and will continue to do so. (There is an average of 600,000 deaths/year related to climate change. Specifically in developing & 3rd world countries).

We demand that our state takes action by joining the plan to reduce transportation emissions, and develops a strong program that invests in public transportation, biking, walking, and prioritizes equity. If we don't help take control of this crisis ACTIVELY, we only have ourselves to blame when it's too late.

The American Lung Association in Maine supports Maine’s involvement in the Transportation & Climate Initiative (TCI) as a critical regional effort to reduce the harms of transportation pollution. Transportation pollution contributes to unhealthy air pollution days and a growing public health risk due to our changing climate. By supporting ambitious and achievable regional transportation policy solutions, we can invest in cleaner technologies and support a healthier future.

We strongly oppose any and all proposals being put forth by Gov Mills in regards to increasing Maine’s electronic cars, charging stations, and plans to hike gas prices, which would be a great hardship on the hard working people of Maine. Please oppose and stop this change to our state by Gov Mills, Maine people do not want or need this agenda to move forward.

The TCI policy is designed to create a high cost bureaucracy that will fail to impact regional emissions of carbon. This effort in wealth redistribution is a ploy without determining any substantial benefit in lowering carbon emissions from the transportation sector. US energy policy has already shown significant reductions in CO2 from increased use of natural gas, allowing the US to be a world leader in CO2 reduction. Temperature data from the US Climate Reference Network (USCRN) has demonstrated a reduction in temperature since 2005 with any recent increases in CO2 levels, thereby disproving any correlation between temperature and CO2 levels. The TCI program has not demonstrated it would have any beneficial impact on temperature. As a part of a global community, any US actions (which have shown a reduction in CO2 generation) are outweighed by other nations (e.g. China, India) that will continue to develop their economies and CO2 emissions.
