Yet the technology exists today to significantly reduce our carbon footprint with clean, green and renewable transportation. Yes, it is true that the initial cost is high, but incentive, rebates, etc can make the price less intimating. Electric trains are a perfect example of cleaner public transit, provided the electricity comes from renewable sources such as solar or wind. If we have better, faster and more convenient ways to get places, people would consider using puvlic transit instead of their own cars.
Climate cahnge is the most important issue of our time and we must include transportation in the ways to reduce the effects of climate change. |

I also know that Nature neither recognizes nor respects any ideological, political, or economic dogmas. We need to face reality and act in ways that are objective, bipartisan, and above all, pragmatic. Mass public transportation of any sort is a significant step toward lower fuel consumption overall. Public transportation specifically designed for a low carbon footprint would be a real help in mitigating climate change. If America acts unilaterally, so be it. The world's largest economy should show leadership and set the example. |

Time the US stopped ignoring the need for mass transportation. We need to spend real $ & serious planning on this or just add to the climate catastrophe that has already started. DC that is of the best introduction they can do for the Nationals that support ASEA efforts. June is a beautiful month of the year regardless of climate conditions because they really don't get to far fluctuated in much of any direction. Possibly the logistics of The UCS Chicago Dept. efforts would make a move over here where I am doing this desktop message as it is a quaint little or medium size town that has many pluses that the average joe would not appreciate as much without more scientific facts perhaps. Recently WTAE channel 4 here in this Wilkinsburg 15221 town emphasized science @ math for the youngsters to take interest in w/ ads and commercials on the tv, this action has prompted me to ask the UCS Chicago Dept. to place a type of storefront branch of the UCS here in Wilkinsburg for the people to consider as a fine drop-off center or club or after school activity....venue or hangout toward their goals of future (employment perhaps) aspirations and cleaner environment for the sake, it seams, of their parents own problems. It would have been really cool if their was a place for or of science when I was young to drop by to and I would like to see the facility prosper the area here east of downtown Pittsburgh, (which I like to call Pittsburgh-east) as we @ the UCS would be a part of. Luv is on the way., your supporter and friend in Pa. , David P Fisher. Ph. (412) 403-2584 thanks guys |

Thankfully there are model cities and regions around the world that can provide our region ideas. Because these model city ideas also provide a measurable track record to learn from. No need to start from scratch. The clock has been ticking for decades. We have already waited too long because of our national addiction to fossil fuels. It is in the best interest of all of us to adopt fossil-free plans NOW. |

Since fuel emissions are a major contributor to the growing crisis of climate change, I heartily support the coalition and its aims. I think that a plan that reduces emissions and traffic congestion is a great idea. The pollution from traffic has a major impact on health and contributes to any number of diseases. Some areas are overburdened by pollution and other areas suffer from a lack of access to public transportation which adds both traffic congestion and fuel exhaust from private vehicles to the atmosphere. I urge all of the officials to work together to improve the air in this high traffic, highly densely populated corridor. It is heartening to see efforts by state and local leaders to move us forward by improving conditions and reducing carbon emissions despite the federal government 's efforts to move the country backward. |

Personally, the health of the planet and people and animals are more important. Protecting pollinators means that all of us will have food to eat.
Please implement the Transportation and Climate Initiative (TCI) states are developing a regional policy for low-carbon transportation following the December 18, 2018.
Thank you. |

It is very important that steps be taken now to lower pollution from transpiration systems. This will help with the climate crisis that the world is facing. Since the federal government is not doing anything to limit emissions the states must take the lead. I am very concerned about the health of my family since many members suffer from asthma. Pollution in any form will cause them to suffer. Please expedite this policy. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. |

I care about reducing pollution from transportation, which is our largest source of global warming emissions (regionally and nationally, next to cattle farming) because it affects the health care/costs & well being of us all, children, adults, seniors, not to mention it's REALLY expensive to clean off soot from buildings to keep our cities presentable for tourism.
I kindly request that your state formally join the plan to reduce emissions.
The policy should have a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access.
It is our duty as citizens of a free thinking democracy to work together for the good of citizens to move forward by planning ahead to protect future generations & our cities' economies by acting with forethought now.
Now is the time!
Thank you for hearing my words. Thank you for all you do in the name of the public good. Please make me proud again to be a citizen of the US by connecting with your heart, & asking yourselves, will this do good?
If the answer is YES, Please Act Now.
Thank you.

Pennsylvania should formally join the plan to reduce emissions. Policies should be equitable by prioritizing clean investments in areas already overburdened by pollution. I'm 20 years old today, and the thought of the world I'll have to raise my children in terrifies me. It's something I find myself thinking about more frequently with each passing year. We need to do something and we need to do it now. And we need to ensure that we prioritize the distribution of those resources to the folks most impacted by a changing climate. I'd love to see Pennsylvania formally be a part of the TCI. I hope it isn't too late, and I believe in my heart that it isn't. |
