TCI Regional Policy Design Stakeholder Submissions

Public subsidized transportation is a climate friendly way to travel which I totally embrace. We are in a climate crisis and we need to do whatever we can to decrease carbon emissions and I also find it personally more relaxing to travel that way. I am a big fan of trains, but buses work also.

Reducing carbon emissions from all aspects of our transportation systems should be a continuing highest priority. This is something we can do! It is one of the most important actions we can take to slow the current steady increase of accumulating disastrous negative effects of climate change on our lives and our childrens' lives.

I want future generations to have a clean environment and not have to worry about ecosystems collapsing and mass extinction because we didn’t take action today.

Clean, affordable, modern and accessible transportation across the mid-Atlantic is imperative to bring our communities into the 21st Century. As a resident of Maine, I see the lack of accessibility for many of the rural citizens, due to not having any form of public transportation. Those who do not live in the Greater Portland area are restricted to only using a car to get places, and have to travel to the more populated areas which can be expensive if they are lower income. This increase of need to be driving a car increases carbon output and is detremental to the environment, much more than a public transportation. People in northern New England would be willing to utilize affordable public transportation if it was an option. Connecting the mid-Atlantic would also increase people's ability to travel and spend money in other states, which would ultimately boost the economy. Lastly, it would allow people with medical conditions, disabilities or other impairments to access more services in a greater area because there would be accessible and affordable public transportation. Please consider funding this project and allowing residents in even some of the most rural areas to be able to access public transportation.

I would like our state/commonwealth of Pennsylvania to formally join the plan to reduce emissions.
I demand that the policy has a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access.
I do appreciate the bipartisan nature of this project, moving us forward while the federal government takes us backward.

it is most important to reduce pollution from transportation. it is the primary source of pollution causing numerous health problems as well as deaths. We need the District of Columbia to formally join the plan to reduce emissions.We appreciate having a say in this bipartisan project and hope that we will get a result against the wishes and doing of the federal government which refuses to listen to science and doesn't care about the impact of pollution on the country and its citizens.

Virginia must formally join the Transportation and Climate Initiative to reduce emissions. The policy must have a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access. Our transportation system is stuck in the dark ages. Traffic congestion from millions of cars and trucks are polluting our lungs and planet more than ever before. As we enter this new decade, we have an opportunity to modernize how we get from point A to point B. I appreciate that this plan was created in a bipartisan nature to move us forward while the federal government takes us backward.

I care very much about reducing pollution from transportation, which is our largest source of global warming emissions (regionally and nationally). As such, I own a small hybrid car, but I know that that is only the very smallest thing I can do, and is not systemic enough to make lasting change to the environment. That's where you come in.
I request that Virginia formally join the plan to reduce emissions.
