Why must we constantly be subjected to the greedy and incompetent lawmakers trying to pull a fast one on us. Learn to control the wasteful spending in this state before picking our pockets! Here’s an idea, how about making the Massachusetts legislative branch part time, eliminate ALL perks like mileage, state issued cars, etc, and see how the rest of the working class live. |

They keep giving themselves pay raiser on our backs. To Raise a tax that we voted against is just WRONG! Do the right thing for once and think about all us working middle-class folks. You can't just keep taxing to pay for all the misplaced spending. While your at it why don't you stop spending so much money on people who are capable of working but come to this country for a handout....and definitely lets make this whole state a sancutary state because that works so well...... |

Very convenient that everything will be fixed in 50 plus years. When we who pay this tax won’t be here to see the “improvements”. Another money grab to create new unneeded bureaucracy’s. I remember how the money from tobacco windfall in the nineties was going to go to smoking prevention. Where did that money go? |

For those of us who must work, must commute and have a job that demands we have independent transportation this is an unavoidable reduction in pay in a state that is already nearly unaffordable to live in. We are held hostage by the government that is supposed to serve us, not punish us. By associating the environment in this bill it passed political correctness muster for the ruling party, but it is a shake down plain and simple. |

And... read more The TCI is designed to force a massive change on American standard of living under the phony guise of climate change. It's an illegal tax on Americans to force them to give up cars. And without cars, they'll be forced to live in crowded urban cities in very small quarters due to the lack of supply and overregulations. This is part of the UN's Agenda 2030 where “governments, international organizations, the business sector and other non-state actors and individuals must contribute to changing unsustainable consumption and production patterns … to move towards more sustainable patterns of consumption and production.” And how to interpret that? Well, we have this quote from the late billionaire Maurice Strong, an UN environmental guru. “It is clear that current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle-class … involving high meat intake, consumption of large amounts of frozen and ‘convenience’ foods, ownership of motor vehicles, numerous electrical appliances, home and workplace air-conditioning ... expensive suburban housing … are not sustainable.” And there you have it, the real reason why these initiatives are being implemented.
Local govts have devolved into ideological idiocracies, incapable of coherent, logical planning. Instead of destroying the middle class, how about finally tackling pension reform, shrinking govt, eliminating waste and fraud to find money to spend on infrastruture projects? Massachusetts is spending millions on illegal immigrants, too, money that could be used for far better purposes. We reject any effort to impoverish us to suit the globalists' agenda. |

For once, take NO for an answer and stop coming back to pick our pockets, especially under the guise of a "climate change initiative," which is just horse hockey. It's pure hubris to think that humankind can effect climate one way or the other. Climate changes. It always has and always will, regardless of what humankind does or doesn't do.

While local taxes and fees have continued to rise, it seems that the Governor and the Massachusetts Legislature are always looking for ways to take more money from my household.
This is not some abstract concept or idea, it is reality. Many retirees are just hanging on by a thread. We can't afford to buy electric vehicles, nor can we realistically be expected to maintain our dignity and our homes when you people continue to come up with ideas that hurt the elderly, lower income citizens, and people on fixed incomes. These two taxes/fees will hurt those in a lower income bracket, but apparently, you only care about us when it's time to ask for our vote.
I always knew the Democrat-led legislature was all about raising taxes and fees, but this so-called Republican Governor is the biggest phony I have ever seen. Perhaps, like so many other Massachusetts politicians, he believes his press clippings, and thinks he could run for President down the road, like his fellow former liberal Governor Devol Patrick. Why not run right now, Charlie Baker? Get the hell out of office you liberal POS! |

The Baker administration is trying to sneak one over on the taxpayers by how they are trying to implement this thing. Second, this state does NOT deserve a tax increase. Third, the whole carbon footprint discussion is hogwash. And fourth, the voters have already voted down a gas tax increase. Voters are paying attention. DO NOT GO THROUGH WITH TCI! |
