You can't let them get away with it! The political insiders are planning a new gas tax that will harm Rhode Island families. We've fought back hard, but there is still more to do...
The TCI Gas tax will soon dramatically rise the price of gasoline if the Raimondo administration gets their way. Click here or on the button below to sign the growing petition, and then comment against this tax hike on the TCI website.
Your voice is powerful, and it is making the difference. Many lawmakers have already expressed their opposition to the TCI gas tax, but it still isn't enough.
We have them on the ropes, but we must keep the pressure on. The proponents of this progressive agenda won't let up, and neither can we. Thank you. |

We have the worst public transit system. It barely covers half the state, what about the rural sectors? Enough is enough. Start taking the cars away from city employees that use them for personal use after hours that will save money and fuel! |

It will do absolutely nothing towards mitigating the stated claims of the TCI. Its sole purpose is to take more money from the citizens which then go into the general fund. Why is it that progressives feel the need to make everything we need to do for our families more expensive? I currently have two kids in college. And my wife and I are trying to do all we can so they don't have a large bill when they graduate, and now the TCI will come in and make that more difficult. My oldest commutes from home to school and work, TCI will be a burden on us all. We need to fight this and let them know that this must not be put in place! |

The now abandoned 40 acre natural gas plant in Burrillville would have provided 900MW of electricity. The difference is that it would take 4,712 acres of forest to generate the same amount of electricity. This is green energy???

The water needs a place to go when it rains. When houses are built on the flood plain, the water goes into them. God has given the sea its limit. When we thumb our noses at Him and build where the water should go, there is flooding. Please do not raise the cost of driving to support unproven "science". |

Middle-income families make up roughly one-third of Americans. By increasing the gas tax, not only are you lessening the amount of money in their pockets, but the amount of money being pumped into the economy is being lessened too.In fact spending on side projects has increased 38% since 2008 while spending on core highway projects has remained flat. This solution would only support and encourage more wasteful spending. The transportation of goods is primarily done via highways. This will cost drivers more to fuel their way to deliver goods, meaning a higher cost on goods, which reduce the discretionary income of millions of Americans, and often correspond with diminished economic growth. In fact, analysts at Goldman Sachs predict “lower gas prices could add as much as half a percentage point to GDP growth this year.” |

Rhode Island has been Democratically run for decades and we are flat broke, infrastructure is falling apart, schools are failing, young adults are leaving because there are no jobs, and now we have EZ-Pass on our highways soon to be in our driveways, the way things are going.
This Transportation Climate Initiative is just another unwanted tax that will do nothing more than fill the pockets of dirty politicians.
Exactly what initiative in regard to the climate is this tax supposed to fix? Where is the data that supports this initiative? What is the end result of this fix? What is the time line to fix this problem? Is it before or after we are all suppose to die? |

Ditto for riding a bike , electric bike or scooter, or a motorcycle. Income is limited, and the ability to drive to appointments, for ourselves or friends, is critical.
In addition, the cost of electricity is rising as wind power is added to the required mix of electricity sources. Please reconsider! |
