The environmental con job continues having been turned into a self induced victim hood syndrome, especially at The RI General Assembly & Governors office on Smith Hill In a Crime Town sanctuary City State aka RI . This a vehicle creating even more wasteful revenue streams of extorted tax payer monies. The earths natural climate / GEO cycle will continue. Here in RI the shore line will continue to sink and erode while the inland region will rise. This the reverse of the last ice age event. The costly measures taken by Northern Germany & Holland would only slow the inevitable. Finally the self inflicted Green Suicide championed especially by the proponents of an already failed in Europe alleged green Wind and Solar Industrial Complex must end. The existing RI natural gas and electricity distribution network has already suffered from neglect in part justified by a chicken little environmental madness. We must look to construction of pipe lines from PA & across NY State bringing desperately needed domestic shale gas into Southern New England. The alternatives LNG Ships at a Narragansett Bay off loading and storage terminal. Or LNG Rail Cars again a local off loading and storage terminal. Or, increase the size of the LNG truck convoys already on the roads delivering LNG to RI gas peaking faculties during especially the night time hours. As well adding electrical generating capacity via combined cycle shale gas fueled power stations. These measures will serve as a 'Time Bridge" to tomorrows disruptive electrical power generation technologies. That is the US congress has already acknowledged and supported Bills passed and signed by President Trump that align the nation Lab assets in support of disruptive Generation IV power Station technologies. Never the less Environmental radicals continue to gather supporting an agenda of the already failed in Europe W & S Industrial Complex and or other energy sources and conversion methods etc. |

We need to go to people's homes and businesses to do our work. The cost of doing business in Rhode Island is already an issue for business and this will add to it. We would be forced to raise our rates to cover the added expense and that will put our service out of reach to most people and we will not be able to hire and might have to downsize. |

Just ask the fisherman/women, farmers, those who tap Sugar maple trees, skiers and anyone else paying attention to or depends on the climate and the outdoors for their livelihood. I would remind people that the tobacco companies took the same tact toward cigarette taxes, controlling advertisement, regulation, etc. With oceans becoming more acidic and contributing to the decline of lobsters and clams, with "Acid Rain" returning to the eastern slope of the Adirondacks poisoning native trout habitat, all directly due to coal-based electrical generation, in addition to a warming Northeastern US, it is time for the TRUTH. It is something that 45 and most republicans have a hard time with, the TRUTH. Much easier to be a "Lazy Liar." The Ozone Hole is closing and Bald Eagles have made historic comebacks, all due to science-based and incentivized supports for chlorine- based coolants as well as science-based regulations to stop the use of certain pesticides. In New England, over 60% of the population desires reasonable steps to protect our environment and protection from the "NO NO NO" crowd. People who are against this approach should move to a part of the country where the predominance of residents don't care about their environment. |

Gas taxes place a regressive tax on the working poor. Climate initiatives should be through investment, not placing additional taxes on the working poor. A combination over time which requires more high pressure gas lines to be brought into the North
East from Canada along with Nuclear development both fission and fusion must be supported if we are to have long term sustainable clean and safe energy. You can't close all the Coal plants without prior replacement supplies in place. Whether it's called a fee, a dues or what ever, this is still another TAX! |

The revenue collected is often diverted to the general fund to offset budget shortfalls. The intent of the state fuel tax was to maintain the state's infrastructure IE: roads and bridges. The TCI "tax" will achieve nothing other than to drive more people out of RI and create yet another state bureaucracy. |

They drive from house to house. The increase in the gas tax will have a direct impact on their income and expenses. The state already steals money from all of the residents with a toll on trucks (what do you think, the cost doesn't get passed on to consumers)? RI signing on to this TCI will do nothing for the world's pollution problem. It will only put money into the pockets of the connected wealthy politicians and friends who are allowed to get into businesses that will benefit from the money generated by the new tax. This would be a disaster and would give home care workers another reason to quit their job and move into career paths that would not require them to drive their car so much, leaving many, many patients with no one to care for them, forcing them into much more expensive nursing homes. |
