It is impossible to get to the airport from Bridgton or Sweden by public transportation. In addition the roads near where I live are not safe for biking. I would do a lot more biking if there were safer roads. In addition there need to be more electric charge stations in our area. There is one in Bridgton, but it is not convenient to the grocery stores. I have an electric vehicle with limited range. I cannot use it to get to the airport nor grocery stores.	-

We have an all-electric car and need more widely spread charging stations. The roads are poorly constructed for bicycle use. There is little bus or train service to small towns from Portland or the Boston area and what is available is so limited that it does not coordinate with air schedules. Climate change is our world's number one problem. We need to address the issues now!	-

Support for Mass Transit and alternative-fueled modes of transportation have been shown to greatly decrease carbon emissions.	-

I only put 9 to 10,000 miles a year on my vehicle where in the heck do you think I can cut back? If you think you can show me where to do that please come to 62 East Eagle Lane in swanville and follow me for a week and see just how little I drive. Janet Mills knows nothing about running a household let alone a state.	-

What I don't understand is why it has to be on the backs of rural people, like here in Vermont. We need our cars and pickup trucks to grocery shop, go to work, do charitable work, basically live. We didn't ask for this to be this way, it was ordained for us by the greed of the automotive industry and the gasoline/fuel oil industry and now we are stuck with it. Granted there are more vehicles going "green" but we are not there yet. To just start with a carbon tax will not only hurt the peoples pocket book, but will eventually hurt the Vt economy too and will not help the environment one bit. NO CARBON TAX.	-

TCI is attempting to bypass the democratic process by pushing through a tax increase without forcing the legislature to take a vote. Eliminating legislative procedure is a very slippery slope for Massachusetts. Whether you support this California style gas tax hike or not, and I do not, it’s wrong for Governor Baker to pursue a tax increase without a legislative vote. Lawmakers are being completely excluded from the process, despite this being the exact task they were elected to carry out.	-

At the end of the process the consumer will be forced to pay more - thus making this fee, very tax like. Penalizing parts of the state that do not have robust public transportation options is unfair and hurts the state economy. Our family would likely begin to make plans to leave Massachusetts. This coupled with the exodus of young couples will seriously hinder the Massachusetts economy both now and in the future. Stop the TCI.	-

However, there is much debate to be had as to how we pay for said projects. I believe that to impose the TCI fees without a vote from the legislature of the Commonwealth does a disservice to the tax payers that I and my colleagues represent. I ask that the TCI is required to be voted on by the state legislature as a stand alone vote prior to its enactment as a regional agreement. People from all corners of Massachusetts will benefit from a process with greater transparency and accountability.	-

Raising prices is not going to keep people from driving: they have no choice. Instead it will just drive us further and further into poverty, causing more and more people to leave our state as soon as they are able.	-

From CommonWealth Magazine: “ The proposal would mimic a gas tax in that it would raise the price of gasoline.” Please don’t disguise a gas tax with a new name “cap and invest”. Reduce government waste, and fix loopholes to ensure that ultra-rich are not paying a lower effective tax rate than the lower and middle working classes. Use that money to improve mass transit e.g. electric buses on convenient routes. Only then will commuters opt to leave the car at home.	-
