TCI Regional Policy Design Stakeholder Submissions

It is imperative that New Jersey act now to reduce - drastically - our carbon emissions related to transportation. There is no time to waste here - we are already on the brink of irreversible damage to our planet and all species aboard it. Because of our population density we are well-positioned to serve transportation needs collectively, and reduce/eliminate the single-rider auto trips we see now. Also we must convert to clean all-electric fleet. Passageways for walkers and bikers must be greatly expanded, and designed for safety. Existing routes must be retrofitted to accommodate more users, and again, these routes must be safe to use. We also need to take a look at private companies that enter neighborhoods multiple times a day with single-delivery packages - these are creating damaging pollution and causing congestion. Other plans which have been considered in the past but rarely implemented must be taken off the shelf and put to immediate use ( e.g., staggering work hours, esp. at large employment hubs and offering more substantial incentives for using clean mass transit.) Incentives for employers who provide lockers and showers for bike commuters. More restricted lanes for buses and other group transportation vehicles.

This Rouge Governor needs to go, if possible impeach, or any form. The best thing that could happen, is to get a Republican in office, and lose the many Union led losers in the General Assembly. The new Gas Tax, is a bad situation for every consituent, so lets see what our General Assembly finally does it anything.

I OPPOSE the gas tax for Mainers. NO NO NO If the state needs more money.....hold a yard sale ........like a lot of people do for extra income.

It is imperative that we do all we can to mitigate the effects of climate change. Implementing a comprehensive regional program could help to create safe roads for biking and walking, more frequent and reliable public transportation, greater access to electric vehicles, and a more equitable system with cleaner transportation options for everyone in the region.

We dont need any taxes on gas . Stop giving people $ who dont contribute to the cause .

taxes under the Transportation and Climate Initiative is just the newest way to line the pockets of these over paid, under deserved politicians. So the hard working people of this state pay gas taxes, excise tax, state tax, property tax and of course tolls and it is still not enough. This state is bleeding us into poverty, which is their way of controlling us. Instead of sneaking in another tax lower your salaries and pay for your special new cause yourself. The people of this state are tired of paying and paying for this stuff. I think we should have the choice of where are money goes or doesn't go. I believe if these politicians live like us (work 50 plus hours a week without fringe benefits) and missing out on family time just to put food on the table and a roof over our heads and two to three weeks vacation without time off regardless of the weather and family needs. If you do take anytime your pay suffers. WE NEED A BREAK FROM YOUR TAXES, FIGURE IT OUT ON THE MONIES YOU ALREADY GET. IT IS CALLED A BUDGET FOR A REASON. YOU USE THE MONEY YOU ALREADY HAVE AND MAKE IT WORK. JUST AS EVERYONE ONE OF US HAVE TO DO EVERYDAY.

When I visited Europe ten years ago, there were many electric car stations at easy access for drivers of electric cars. Ten years later, and the United States is still far behind. Let's move this forward!
