With no public transportation, and much higher than average commuting distances, workers in this already disadvantaged part of the state can ill-afford to bear the extra cost associated with increased gasoline taxes at any level of government.	-

Having let the politics of profit fritter away earlier efforts to decrease our dependence on fossil fuels, at this late date we need to do everything we can to both eliminate greenhouse gas emissions and greatly increase carbon sequestration if we are to survive. To reduce emissions without compromising nature's sequestration capabilities, responsibly produced solar, wind and hydro electricity must replace fossil fuels in transportation.	-

Furthermore, not just equipment, but employee energy use must be factored into all options. Too often I feel energy use at the "retail" level gets all the focus, and I am hoping this initiative takes the matter wholistically.	-

Create incentives for new behavior, not penalties for behavior that is currently essential just to live (consuming gasoline or diesel). This will create a highly unnecessary burden for Maine taxpayers, and the people will be VERY angry (remember the response to Dean Rikersons proposal?). Let’s work on new tech and moving away from foreign oil dependence, but let’s not, once again, create another financial burden for Maine business and Maine residents. Thanks.	-

There could be additional rebates toward EV purchases or leases for low income families; especially ones that are under served by public transportation or that live in affordable or low income housing.	-
