TCI Regional Policy Design Stakeholder Submissions

We have to get the cars off the road. We need bus lanes. We need better public transit. Poor people cannot afford cars. Congestion by autos is taking it's toll on every part of our lives. We need to keep the Koch network out of the Mass. economy.

This will GE an unmitigated disaster fir our economy. And once again the hard-working taxpayers will be the most hard hit. Shame on you.

In so much as transportation is responsible for our greatest load of CO2 into the greenhouse gas system, this seems like a no brainer.
Please support his well thought out plan.

The transportation sector is responsible for about 40% of our greenhouse gas emissions. This must end. Major improvements in mass transit, an ongoing building of bicycle infrastructure, and the electrification of the remained of the sector are all essential to nothing less than survival. TCI is taking the long view that a cap and trade approach will help accomplish this end. Frankly, only draconian measures, at this point, will bring down our carbon input, but this is a good start. Please back this legislation.

ENOUGH this climate change b.s. excuse is just another TAX.

In his cornerstone speech: "Have Faith in Massachusetts," the vastly underrated President Calvin Coolidge pithily noted the following when he was President of the Massachusetts State Senate:

"Man is born into the universe with a personality that is his own. He has a right that is founded upon the constitution of the universe to have property that is his own. Ultimately, property rights and personal rights are the same thing. The one cannot be preserved if the other be violated. Each man is entitled to his rights and the rewards of his service be they never so large or never so small."

Under the Massachusetts Constitution, It is the duty of the House of Representatives to first consider revenue bills and if approved then send them to the Senate for consideration.

As "climate change" is a fraudulent scheme to transfer American wealth to corrupt third world governments in Mexico, South America, the Middle East and Africa through the imposition of carbon taxes, a regional low-carbon transportation policy proposal that would cap and reduce carbon emissions from the combustion of transportation fuels through a cap-and-invest program or other pricing mechanism would be antithetical to and incompatible with our capitalist economic system, our Constitutional Republic and the system of ordered liberty that the brilliant systems experts John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and others gave us.

The Transportation Climate Initiative (TCI) proposal is a backdoor attempt to raise the gas tax that consumers will have to pay for at the pump. I urge you to demand that Governor Charlie Baker seek a legislative vote on the merits of TCI before Massachusetts moves forward in the process. I also have concerns with raising any gas taxes and urge you to vote against all gas tax bills. The TCI gas tax will mean less money in the taxpayer's pocket and an even higher cost of living where we are already near the highest in the nation.

It must be noted that implementing a TCI tax without having it first considered by the Massachusetts House and then sent to the Senate would be a gross violation of the letter and spirit of the Massachusetts Constitution.

Again, I urge you to demand that Governor Charlie Baker seek a legislative vote on the merits of TCI before Massachusetts moves forward in the process. I also urge you to vote NO on any new TCI gas taxes, any TCI regional policies or any other gas tax increases.

Just another money grab for the hardworking taxpayers of this dysfunctional state. Vote em all OUT !!. Time to leave this state.

Climate Initiative is a BS and YOU know it and so don't we! We are sick of being taxed to death! ENOUGH!!! I am ready to leave this awful state!

This Cap and Trade just penalizes the poor by not only increasing their heating costs and transportations costs but also their energy costs as a whole.
There was a town in Texas (Georgetown) that went to complete renewable energy and the residents electric bills went up to astronomical rates.
Our electric utilities are already wanting their rate payers to fund the cost of building EV charging stations when there are not many people who will use them. Electric cars create a carbon footprint also. There have been studies done.

As far as switching cars to electric you are just switching one form of carbon for another. Power companies are not grabbing lightning bolts out of the air for your electricity. The more electric used the more carbon they will produce. Renewable energy is not able to replace the amount of energy we use.
You would be far better off getting people to use public transit. Penalize people for driving huge non efficient vehicles. Invest in renewable energy to help supplement other sources of power.
