This will be pouring more money down a rat hole. As a scientist, I have serious questions about the whole global warming theory. We all agree that the earth is warming. The question is man responsible? There is plenty of scientific dissent to the theory, but the dissenting voices are suppressed by the media, who no longer feel the need to give light to ideas that contradict their political orthodoxy. Science is not science when it is politicized. The promoters of this theory would have everyone believe that all scientists agree that CO2 is the cause of global warming. In science, there is almost never complete consensus on anything. |

An across the board, regressive tax on such an essential and democratized commodity such as gasoline is a cruel punishment to inflict on Massachusetts motorists. Utilizing the climate change debate to pad patronage hiring and close budget gaps is truly an outrage. The fact that all of the states in the northeast are considering this as a monopolistic venture to prevent border competition is even more horrific. Thank you for the consideration. |

Not doing so only proves the hypocrisy of the argument!! |

If Tall Devil, I mean Charlie wants to slide this into his budget to keep feeding his friends in the unions I think we should immediately votw for the only vehicles allowed to take home from ANY state map, I mean job, should be all electric vehicles. No more cruisers being driven home at 90 MPH because the statues are “on duty” 24/7 like they “have been” in the past. No more Tahoe for Charlie to be catered around in - he wants a free ride he can drive his own little electric spec to see how much fun they are to drive around Boston - and make sure it’s a stripped down model without any extras so he can finally drive like the rest of us. Might teach him to take that amazing MBTA he has worked such wonders on. |

Given that this state completely mismanages any money it gets (look at the MBTA), this tax is nothing but a money grab and will do ZERO to lower anyone's carbon footprint. Making people shell out even more money will hurt a lot of people commuting to work. There is no real plan in place that proves paying more money at the pump will do anything but fill some people's bank accounts. If the so-called plan is so great, put it to a vote of the people. Baker is out of his mind on this one. |

It appears I’ve been elevated to “stakeholder” status when you want to pass this tax in disguise. Otherwise, I’m unimportant. However, I do have a law degree and passed constitutional law classes. This is a tax imposed on the people without benefit of debate or vote, i.e., taxation without representation. Y’all should be ashamed of yourselves, but I get it, the “woke” climate of today is something you can capitalize on and use it to grab some more money supposedly because you care about the environment. HA! I OPPOSE THE TCI TAX. |

Governor Thomas Hutchison’s mansion was ransacked in retaliation for the Stamp Act. He was reviled by both the citizens and his British overlords and was replaced and fled to England in exile. I believe it is still possible to get tar and feathers. TCI is nothing but a blatant, unconstitutional money grab. |

We did this in 2014 and now Governor Baker, who I mistakenly twice voted for, is trying to sneak in a gas tax disguised as a fee. I suggest that he and the Legislature, for that matter, forego this proposed fee and any other attempt to further burden the hard-working citizens of Massachusetts and leave us alone. I also suggest that the names of anyone who continues to work for this fee proposal or any other attempt to raise the gas tax, including the governor, be published, so the voters will know who we have to vote out of office in November. |
