I'm very pleased to learn about initiatives like this, especially given the importance of public transport in combating our impending and dramatic climate crisis. One key aspect that I hope can be taken into account is not just the availability and affordability, but also the public perception of, subway, train and especially bus travel.	-

I am tired of the "climate change" frauds, climate has never been, is not now and never will be static, it is dynamic. I remember from the seventies warnings of a new ice age by the nineties. I also do not want any more of my money to go to the MBTA for anything, including their unfunded pensions. Not my fault, not my problem. Maine citizens would suffer the most from that increase, since we are the ones that live and work here. I love my job, and because of my age, changing workplaces is not ideal. I say that because I commute daily about 75 miles round-trip. Increased gas taxes, such as Governor Mills is proposing, would increase my travel costs by about $6,000 per year! That is outrageous! Many of my fellow Mainers would feel the same pain. Governor Mills, you will wreck Maine's economy if you resort to tax hikes. Do not join the TCI, and do not wreck our economy!	-

Stop the madness. This has little to do with the environment and much to do with the ineffective leadership at the State House. This tax will affect more than an increase in my fuel cost. Everything that gets delivered by truck will see an increase in price that will be passed to the consumer. I doubt that it will end with just gas prices being raised. I foresee the cost of fuel that I heat my home with to being subjected to this tax.	-

The framework should do more to center the needs and voices of frontline communities, including making sure that the impacts of the framework do not further harm low-income people and communities of color with a regressive financial instrument. The framework should also include requirements around ethical sourcing and supply chain transparency for producing the solar panels powering clean energy and to build batteries for electric vehicles, especially to prevent the continuation of human and environmental abuses in mines (https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2019/sep/05/most-renewable-energy-companies-claims-mines).	-

I would be proud if my state, Massachusetts, joins the plan to reduce emissions. It is necessary that the policy has a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access. I am thankful for the bipartisan nature of this project, moving us forward while the federal government takes us backward.	-

We need a massive... read more While in another time, many years ago, this would have been a good idea, but we have squandered our time neglecting the climate problem and now the TCI is too little too late. We need a massive plan to transform our society similar to the war effort in the Forties and TCI is a feel good bandaid on a massive wound and will just distract us from focusing on a plan that will comprehensively address this crisis. This plan among other things, must address the neglected parts of our society, for to work, it must have the support of all citizens. It must also address the main cause of the climate problem: the capitalist system where the wealthy prosper and the poor are left to their own devices to survive; making things for commerce's sake, not because we need these things; increasingly extracting material from the earth as if it is inexhaustible leaving behind a polluted earth and air now so degraded that we are on the brink of extinction - all in the pursuit of market projections that our businesses must not fail to meet not what is the best we can do for mankind. This is time for the boldest thinking we can muster if we are to survive - not this weak answer to the most dire issue mankind has created or faced.	-

We can leverage market forces to start reducing transportation emissions through TCI. I request that the Commonwealth of Vermont. take our common climate wealth seriously and formally join the TCI to reduce emissions. The emissioond of greenhouse gases are appalling but It's far more than greenhouse gases, the particle pollution is the direct cause of many health problems. Commute times have skyrocketed in the many years I've been living here. I'd like my children and grandchildren to be able to breathe air as clean as it was when I was a child. I would like to see New York formally join the plan to reduce emissions. This is one of the few initiatives I've seen that has bipartisan support. Our country needs more of those if it is to continue to exist. It is very important that the final policy policy has a strong component of prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access.	-
