Taxing motorists in the name of the climate is ridiculous. In fact, the thought that paying more taxes to the Government will affect the weather in any way is ludicrous. Especially considering that these money grabs in the name of climate change are typically squandered away via big money contracts awarded to environmental companies to pay themselves to "make a difference". Keep your hands out of our pockets and let the working class continue to spend their hard earned money on what they deem important.

Please, do not let this go into Law. I can provide as much if not more scientific data which undeniably proves natural occurrences have as much or even more impact on our Planet. These include but not limited to, magnetic shifts in the axis, solar flares, tectonic plate movement in oceans (oceans which cover over 70% of this Earth are releasing billions of tons of methane gases, increase of earthquakes and volcanoes). There are more than 25 active volcanoes per day which can rise to 49 on any given day). The release of poisonous gases from volcanoes reach the stratosphere ( the second layer of the atmosphere as you go upward), the troposphere, (the lowest layer), and the upper boundary, stratopause.
Frankly this is another money grab to be placed on the backs of taxpayers.
The Natural cycle of climate evolution is never mention by the pro-climatologists. We need balanced discussions to move forward with pragmatic solutions.
We're on fixed incomes and cannot tolerate the escalating notion, "more taxes solve problems".

Transportation emissions are now the largest source of carbon emissions in the country, I care about our environment and health and support a cap and invest program in MA to get these emissions under control. It’s also of critical importance that the investment component takes equity into account and serves underserved and low income communities most impacted. Lastly, it’s a great example of bipartisanship and getting things done across party lines- let’s do this!

I am happy to see bipartisan support for the U.S. moving forward to reduce carbon emissions from cars and trucks and fossil fuels. Other countries have made much greater progress in this respect. We need clean, efficient, safe, and affordable public transportation for the sake of our own lives, the human lives to come, and the health of the planet.

I am passionate about reducing pollution from transportation, in part because transportation is our largest source of global warming emissions. We are in the midst of a climate crisis, and we need to do everything in our power to reduce emissions in a just way. I urge this plan to include equity at every stage of the process, by ensuring that clean investments are prioritized for communities who are traditionally left out and who face more of the burden from pollution. Corporations need to be held accountable, and the benefits need to be put towards marginalized people. Marginalized/frontline communities need to be consulted at every stage of the process and their voices uplifted. We desperately need to invest in public transportation and make it a better option than personal vehicles.

I am glad to learn that this is a bipartisan effort, and I look forward to following up with the progress of this plan. The Climate Crisis, and the crisis of income inequalities are emergencies, and we need to do something about it now.

Clean and efficient transportation is critical for climate and competitiveness. Lead, follow (China), or get out of the way. I have traveled to EU and Asia and it is embarrassing how far behind we are. Time to catch up!

Please set up a strong plan to reduce pollution from transportation. I support Massachusetts joining this plan. The time is passing. We need to make drastic changes now. I am ready.
