It would be wonderful, in this age of anger in politics, to see a bi-partisan effort to reduce these emissions, thereby - hopefully - insuring a brighter and healthier future for today's youth and this planet. I am 70 years old, and I remember as a young child being in heavy traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel and hardly able to breath. Things are better today but need to get better and I hope it will.	-

According to a recently released study by Harvard and other institutions, if the program is designed appropriately, up to 1,100 lives can be saved annually, and the region could see $11 billion in health benefits each year. I ask that the following issues are supported in the design: a cap on carbon emissions of at least 25% by 2032; an increase in the minimum investment in overburdened and underserved communities (>35%); and, I respectfully request that investments be put towards active transportation like better sidewalks, bicycle infrastructure, and high quality public transit. A regional low-carbon transportation program could only provide benefits for citizens and the environment. Thank you for your consideration.	-

Transportation is vital as in a rural area; grocery stores, Doctor/Clinic visits, etc, all depend on transportation. There is no public transportation in most areas of Maine. Increasing taxes with no benefits adds to the price of fuel, the price of groceries; all areas of one's life. The regular folks can't afford any more financial stress. Raising fuel taxes will have a bad, damaging effect on the Residents of Maine.	-

This will artificialy drive up fuel costs for the most vulnerable in the state. We have no control over these fuel rations yet what happens when we have an unusually cold winter and lets say with long term power outages. Then what, we pay the piper. What happens when the fuel carbon allowance is exceeded due to out of state visitors that we forget to factor in to the equation. Killington World Cup attracts thousands of SUVs. In the seventies, I was taught personal responsibility, and to spread that message. Now we teach our children that ineffective protesting is the only way forward. Teach your children how to be a custodian of the planet and stay out of my life. Climate change=corporate greed, not me and my family trying to survive on less and less. Take away everyones money and theyll quit polluting the planet. Start with Leo and Al?	-
