Of course, the limited... read more I am strongly opposed to this idea, of joining other dissimilar states, to bring a finite amount of gasoline, and diesel fuel into the state to be resold to consumers. Of course, the limited supply will drive prices up, and the permitting fees will be added to the cost and passed on to the consumer! Maine is much more rural than other states in this consortium, we have a higher aging population on fixed incomes, and the geographical nature of our state means much more is spent on transportation costs by business. Please keep control over our state, and do not join a group that will force Maine rural taxpayers to fund “green “ initiatives in the larger population centers, in a disproportionate way!! We can address this green initiative in our own state, exclusive to our state that is so much different in size, industry, geography and number of citizens, and the make up of the tax base...small businesses and individuals. We have approximately 800,000 taxpayers that shoulder the entire burden already. This is just a bad idea for Maine. It is already such an expensive state to live in, pleas find another way !! Thank you	-

A "TAX" on the "rich" that will end up being passed down to the poor via higher costs of everything that requires transportation to get it to your home: not just gas, but food, too! How are renters who cannot use wood fuel, by eqregious insurance regulation, going to pay for heat? How about rising costs of food. Who benefits? Only the metro areas where mass transportation and natural gas pipelines are practical will benefit (well, at least it won't hurt their pockets as much). Now that New Hampshire has said, "NO" to this, good luck to all businesses in other states near the NH border. PLEASE, GOVERNOR SCOTT, TELL THE LEGISLATURE YOU WILL VETO ANY NEW TAX SCHEME!	-

Taxpayers do not need to be burdened with the fantasy of "fixing" the environment. Climate fluctuation is a normal activity that has been happening since the earth was created. Limiting CO2 emissions so people can feel good about themselves should not burden the taxpayers or drag down the economy. Can government actually work on important items?
