Traffic congestion from millions of cars and trucks are polluting our lungs and planet more than ever before. In fact, transportation is our largest source of global warming emissions (regionally and nationally). I would like to see Delaware formally join the plan to reduce emissions. Let's prioritize the development of clean mass transit in areas overburdened by pollution and in areas where the population does not have access to convenient transport. Why not concentrate on mass transit rather than another lane of traffic on the interstate (which never seems to alleviate congestion)? Let's progress toward a clean transportation plan. Thank you for promoting the bipartisan nature of this project, moving us forward while the federal government takes us backward.	-

The revenue collected is often diverted to the general fund to offset budget shortfalls. The intent of the state fuel tax was to maintain the state's infrastructure IE: roads and bridges. The TCI "tax" will achieve nothing other than to drive more people out of RI and create yet another state bureaucracy.	-

I beg you... read more We must reduce pollution from transportation - most especially carbon from cars, buses and trucks, which is our largest source of global warming emissions (regionally and nationally). I beg you to join the plan to reduce emissions. The policy must have a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access. We certainly don't want to have to wear face masks just to breathe like some of our Asian areas need to do! I appreciate the bipartisan nature of this project, moving us forward while the federal government takes us backward. Our current administration is living in the Dark Ages - don't join them, I beg you!!!!	-

We here in Maine have the highest percentage of elderly and are on fixed incomes and you rich politicians want to add more onto these folks and take more of their hard earn retirement money. You people in this initiative should be helping these people and not putting more weight of taxes upon them. Stop taxing us to death and stop the over spending of money you do not have.	-

Also, affordable efficient rail between Burlington and Boston and NYC. The traffic On Shelburne Rd. and Dorset Street is terrible. I would like to see more frequent and FREE bus service in Chittenden County that makes public transportation convenient and a good option for everyone. Lastly, making bike lanes safe and apart from traffic is a must.	-

While we would love more transit options, and those should definitely be expanded into more suburban and rural areas, having government programs that provide genuine, vetted options to buy carbon offsets would be helpful as well. Some people are in circumstances like ours where we need a car throughout the day, eliminating the option of public transit, and being unable to afford to buy an extremely costly electric car to utilize new charging infrastructure. With carbon offsets, we can mitigate the effects of the circumstances we currently face, but it is difficult to personally vet other supplies of offsets to confirm that they are genuine and effective.	-

I live and work in RI for the state and I drive an hour each way. I drive a 4x4 vehicle cause of snow I’m an RN I need to be there for my patients and fellow workers to relieve them. You expect us to pay more for gasoline ????? This is bullsh*t. Take your liberal ideas and stuff them. I like my house and don’t want to move because you are trying to rob me at the pump. Finally gas has been at a good low for the last 4 years and no you ,a holes, want to gouge me. This sucks for all RI residents. The facts are it won’t make but a 1-6% difference to the emissions output. So I think you need to rethink thus crazy TAX HIKE. Hey Gina WEAR YOUR MASK AND STAY HOME LIKE YOU TOMD ALL OF US.	-
