I'm 20 years old today, and the thought of the world I'll have to raise my children in terrifies me. It's something I find myself thinking about more frequently with each passing year. We need to do something and we need to do it now. And we need to ensure that we prioritize the distribution of those resources to the folks most impacted by a changing climate. I'd love to see Pennsylvania formally be a part of the TCI. I hope it isn't too late, and I believe in my heart that it isn't. |

That means immediately prioritizing moving people over moving cars. We need to invert our spending, and spend more on micro-mobility (bike and scooter only paths/roads), walking, and mass transit (trains, separated bus lanes, etc.)
Further, communities like mine, in Malden, have serious health concerns because we're surround by roads. Instead of people commuting through our town by car, it is only just to switch it out and have them commute through our community via bikes.
This is critical. And urgent. Please set policy accordingly.

I fully support the Transportation and Climate Initiative and hope our leaders will seriously consider and implement bold measures to transform the transportation sector. We need to show that our region and country can lead the way in reshaping our transportation from a highly polluting stain on our society to one that is innovative, accountable, clean, and healthy for its citizens.
As someone involved in local business, I would love to be able to transition my company’s fleet of vehicles to cleaner, sustainable options, but large scale transformation needs to take place so that these vehicles become mainstream and the infrastructure is there to support local communities and businesses to transition as well.
Thank you for your attention to this crucial issue. |

Why not consider a Using the existing facilities as a COMMUTER Rail run from Depew to Downtown.. Residents of Amherst, Cheektowga, Clarence, Lancaster, West Seneca, & Depew.. that commute everyday in AUTOS to downtown now have a option to use a REAL commuter line from suburbs to Downtown.. The station in Depew is close to Buffalo International Airport and RT 33 and Rt 90... The attached Document shows the Empty facility on Dick rd & Walden that could be used as a commuter parking lot with a small ped bridge to get pedestrians from lot to rail siding..This is a idea that will not cost MILLIONS and remove many daily commuters that drive everyday into downtown Buffalo...
Just try it with existing Amtrak trains and see how it works... You could even have express buses drop off folks from towns futher east of Buffalo like Akron, Batavia , Lockport

I voted for a Republican Governor in my state to help protect me from these issues. |

Maine is already carbon neutral. Electric cars are not going to help this and they are not an effective year round mode of transportation esp on fridgid days. To tax facilities that sell or provide gas is unfairly and non-transparently taxing individuals that choose to continue with gas powered autos etc as a safer option of transportation |

To raise my taxes without any legislative representation is akin to how the American Revolution started. You have apparently deemed yourselves smarter and more compassionate about the environment than those you wish to force to pay for your nonsense. Even if enacted, the impact would be minuscule, yet the impact on the taxpayer, business owner and driver would be monumental. Perhaps you don't mind paying more at the pumps, or in stores for merchandise and services but I for one do mind. All of this in the name on making yourselves feel better? That you have done something good for the environment? It all comes at the expense of our freedom and basic representation and is not a price I'm willing to pay. |

In a nut shell this sounds like carbon taxing. The taking of wealth from the population and giving it to the government. In other words a tax. We all know from our civics classes that the power to tax is the power to destroy. The TCI is just another way to take the freedoms, we as taxpayers enjoy, away from us. This is yet another terrible idea submitted by liberals. |

The only thing it will do is increase costs for residents and small business people. It will increase the cost of gas there by increasing costs for everything from food, to trucking, to plowing, etc. This effects all areas of residents lives. There is no benefit other than trying to push green initiates on the Maine state residents; some that won’t even make sense. For example electric cars are not a truly viable option for Maine due to the long winter with extremely cold days that make electric cars some what unreliable. Plus Maine is already very green and pretty much carbon neutral due to our forests. This will only be fit other more develop states at the expense of Maine residents. |
