This compact is only about putting another tax for government spending on us and about controlling our lives.
What exactly would the money be used for that would in fact change the climate?
The United States is the cleanest country in the world.
China and India are huge polluters and you taking more money out of our pockets will not do one thing to change China or India.
Maine is one of the cleanest states in the US. We are also one of the poorest. The last thing we need is to be made poorer and made poorer over something as phony as the climate change hoax.

The affects would continue to drive young people out of our state magnifying the problem. All this aside how about a Governor that promised not to raise taxes after increasing state budget by 800 million dollars. This is absolutely a money grab by a self centered inept governor trying to look good for her constituents and screw the rest of the people. |

I'm sick of my money being wasted on things I'm told I need like gas to get to work. How about not taxing overtime pay so more of my money I can keep to spend on things like vacations, trips, clothes and haircuts. We live in a state that takes longer to get places. Travel is the only way I can make money. Tax my transportation and it will be harder for families to get food and supplies. Wake up governor and listen to the people. |

I support my family with this business. It is already difficult to maintain a business in Maine between high fuel costs, high taxes, high medical insurance costs, and more. As an independent truck driver, I cannot absorb the increase if fuel costs go up even more due to this initiative, nor can I get additional compensation from the company I contract with. By hauling recycled products, my company is already helping the environment. This initiative will put me out of business. It may sound good on the surface but please think it through. Think about the actual people who you will put out of business and leave the state. I am a taxpayer who needs relief, not an additional burden. |
