We need bold action to curb transportation congestion and air pollution. Maybe TCI is not perfect but it is a good step in the right direction. I support this Initiative. The pollution that comes from transportation alone is killing the earth since it is the largest source of global warming emissions. We need to do everything we can to reduce the pollution that comes from transportation.
I request that New York (and all states) formally join the plan to reduce emissions.
The policy has a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access.

We have scientific data and long standing evidence of the damage that will be caused by allowing such an action to occur. One of the key roles of government is to preserve public safety. Willfully ignoring clear evidence of an impending catastrophe is a dereliction of duty. Scientists have worked for decades to assemble an incontrovertible body of evidence related to our changing climate, and ignoring that information is insidious. Future generations' resources, health and prosperity is dependent on us acting immediately, significantly and broadly.
I demand that the policy has a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access. |

I formally request that my state of Virginia formally join the plan to reduce emissions.
I demand that the policy has a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access.
I am very grateful for the bipartisan nature of this project, moving us forward while the current Federal Government "administration" insists on taking us backward.

Since transportation is now our largest source of global-warming emissions. rapidly achieving a carbon-neutral transportation sector is essential for human survival and the quality of life for future generations.
I urge the Commonwealth of Virginia to formally join this plan to reduce transportation-related emissions.
It's important that the adopted policy have a strong equity component, by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access.
It's long past time to stop expanding limited-access highways for toll-free travel by single-occupant motor vehicles. Rather, existing general-purpose freeway lanes should be converted into managed travel lanes for express buses and other multi-occupant vehicles.
I applaud the bipartisan nature of this project, moving us forward while the federal government has been taking us backward by lowering future automobile emission standards and expanding fossil fuel extraction and publicly subsidized fossil fuel infrastructure.

The technologies exist to do these things; what is lacking thus far is the courage to confront entrenched, extremely well funded and insatiably greedy carbon extractors and merchants. We don’t have a year to come up with a plan, so please act quickly and courageously to design a transportation policy that will as rapidly as possible be low-carbon and ultimately result in no-carbon transportation. If you fail to do this, weather related disasters will only increase as we zoom past methane-release, ice-melt and ocean-acidification tipping points on our way to a gruesome end to our species. We are clearly in the midst of a climate crisis; please act accordingly. Thank you! |

What is this new technology that will cap certain vehicles emissions? What about my 2010 Dodge Cummins and will I have to pay a seperate tax for having a bigger truck? Just how much is this program going to cost everyday tax paying New Englanders and please respond without political banter, I've had enough of that. Vermont is already one of the most expensive states to live in and it's only going up. It's very hard for a hard working father of 3 to pay all these taxes without a truthful relevant explanation. I give half my paycheck for taxes now so you can see why someone like me is hesistant.

It is my concern that the raw materials needed to make all new electric cars for our society will be problematic. It might be wiser to retrofit ICE with electric motors. There is a company that is doing that. It is concerning that another peak demand will be created by charging EV's at night. How is the electricity going to be generated for the fueling of EV's that will consume a lot of electricity? Will this turn into a windfall for utilities? This transition needs to be fair and equal. Fuel cells hold such a promise for the future, but, as they stand now, using methane seems counterproductive. The rural transportation problem is huge and complex. Even with auto guided vehicles, the cost will be huge to provide transportation for rural folks who will have no transportation because they cannot afford EV's. The study will bring to the surface problems and solutions to the huge evolution in transportation that is coming. We should be grateful to you for pursuing such a huge project. Thank you! |
