As a climate crisis widow, I support all efforts to limit CO2 and transportation is a large contributor. Do everything possible to make our transportation systems as efficient as possible as fast as possible. Why not free public transportation? Get cars off the roads.

My husband and I own two electric vehicles and are fervent advocates of the advantages they offer. We want the tax credit to be extended to encourage more people to buy electric. Ideally our governments will further support EVs by expansion of charging stations and media coverage.

It is essential that we clean up transportation all across this great country, but particularly in the crowded heavily trafficked Northeast corridor.
Incentives (or requirements) that encourage electric vehicles, more reliable charging network, transitioning to renewables as the primary energy source. Battery capacity is now much improved.
Also, keep supporting good public transportation options, including for the last mile.

If we do not deal with this now, we shall surely choke ourselves to death in the future.

Our transportation system is stuck in the dark ages. Traffic congestion from millions of cars and trucks are polluting our lungs and planet more than ever before. But as we enter this new decade, we have an opportunity modernize how we get from point A to point B.

We need to move quickly to address transportation emissions & shift to a cleaner transportation model if we are to have a prayer of averting the most catastrophic effects of the climate crisis. We need clean, high speed rail services to be expanded & we need ready access to charging stations for electric vehicles, support for cleaner alternative fuels & support for those among us who simply cannot afford hybrids or plug-in vehicles. Pennsylvania needs to join this effort & work aggressively toward our goal of a cleaner transportation grid.

As a WWII vet I can look back on working on steam locomotives and their pollution. The same pollution that all carbon brings today. That pollution is now showing just how destructive it can be. The possible outcomes that once sounded bizarre have become believable. The time has come to abandon carbon based energy and the engines it powers.
Imagine how destructive that will be as we move to all electric transportation. We must embrace that new technology as we shield all those who gave their lives to providing us with a carbon based economy. This bipartisan project is a welcome first step that is much appreciated.

The Northeast has helped lead the nation in reducing pollution from electricity.
Now the largest source of pollution in the region comes from transportation. We can create a better, cleaner transportation system for Northeast residents through investments in public transportation and new technologies such as electric vehicles.
An important step forward would be for the Northeast region to set an overall limit on pollution from transportation through a regional “cap-and-invest” program, similar to the program the region implemented for electricity-related emissions. This program would begin to
hold oil companies accountable for their emissions and provide funding for clean mobility for Northeast residents

As a lifelong resident of New York State, I request that New York formally join the plan to reduce emissions. I care about reducing pollution from transportation, which is our largest source of global warming emissions (regionally and nationally), because I am concerned about native plants and animal species as well as the human population impacted by climate change.
The policy must embrace climate justice by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution. Stakeholders from underrepresented communities must have a voice.
I appreciate the bipartisan nature of this project. States and municipalities must take the lead for their own well-being when the federal government fails to act responsibly.
