Individual choices for driving electric are good, and states need to work together to make bigger, better choices for our collective future. The electrification of transportation in the TCI region and the pricing of pollution will go a long way to cleaning the air and combating climate change.

It is time that Virginia, long crippled by special interest lobbies manipulating people to vote against their own best interests, finally steps up on the existential threat posed by a changing climate. I strongly support the TIC-P Model Rule, with its focus upon the largest driver of greenhouse gas emissions and upon underserved communities. It is time to come together to think about our children and grandchildren and forget about politics.

Please stop throwing more and more taxes on middle class families. We are all tired, we need tax breaks not yet another tax on top of already crazy high taxes on our transportation costs. There is no viable route to electric cars, charging takes too long, gasoline is the only viable energy solution for personal transport needs of the average middle class consumer. Just stop funding your pet projects on the backs of people that can not afford it.

What the HELL are you doing to Virginians with this INANE "climate initiative"???? You are hurting the very people who WORK! You are accomplishing NOTHING -- CO2 is what plants need, and plants give us OXYGEN back. The Chinese are busy scarfing up all of the world's fossil fuels so that they will be the engines of the world -- while IDIOTS like you are starving us all.
We have: world-wide commodity shortages, increased production and raw material costs, , a stock market bubble, and an increase in monetary growth by 336 percent over the last 12 months… inflation is building rapidly… Soon no one will be able to afford ANYTHING let alone TRANSPORTATION.
WHY are you making Virginians suffer? HOW will this "save the planet"????? Are you INSANE??? (Answer: yes)
The elites who rule this country, and especially VIRGINIA, are stupid, selfish, careless, destructive and will cause world-wide suffering and devastation. This is how Hitler came to power. OH WAIT, HITLER IS ALREADY IN POWER.

I do not appreciate your efforts to increase my cost of living by eliminating cheap energy is favor so called "clean" energy. by making fossil fuels more expensive using cap and trade policies that run the price of gas up at the pump. electric cars are expensive and the batteries don't last. The climate has been changing since the beginning of time innovation not rigging the economy with cap and trade is what we need.

Emissions, from a wide variety of vehicles which account for nearly half of Virginia's carbon output, are a huge driver of climate change, while also emitting toxic air pollution that falls disproportionately on low-income populations and communities of color.

The Transportation and Climate Initiative Program (TCI-P) is a positive and welcome step forward to addressing this major source of pollution. The program will spur needed investments in a modern, sustainable transportation system. These investments could put more electric vehicles on the road in Virginia along with equitably distributed charging infrastructure across the state.

The TCI-P also presents the opportunity to direct investments in a cleaner transportation system in the communities that have suffered the most from vehicle pollution. While the model rule calls for at least 35 percent of TCI proceeds to go toward frontline, impacted communities, here in Virginia I would hope we go above and beyond that benchmark to at least 50% of TCI revenue in programs and infrastructure that will lower this disproportionate pollution burden.

It is my hope, as well as my plea, that this important framework moves forward for the good of our climate, our health and our future.

I do not believe we need a carbon tax here in Virginia, we already pay more than enough in taxes. Taxing diesel more will not only increase the fuel tax, but our food supply, as well as everything else being transported by the trucking industry. Electric vehicle are way out of the reach of the average citizen, especially us folks living on a fixed income. Climate has been changing for millions of years, and will continue to do so.
