Please, please, please raise gas taxes!!!! The higher the better so more people will stop supporting the ridiculous, WOKE, liberal agenda that continues to destroy this country!

Consider outreach initiatives to car dealerships, service garages and the public to educate on the merits and workings of Electric Vehicles;
Partner with electric service providers to upgrade power grid and allow for off-peak rates to consider EV charging impact to power grid;
Prioritize maintenance of EV charging network - charge stations have a high rate of down time. Install fast chargers at every highway service area.
Require all dealerships which sell or lease EV's to install a fast charger. Bear in mind dealerships are slow to accept EV promotion as low maintenance translates into lower revenue for them.
Governments have to consider loss of revenue from gas taxes as more EV's are on the road. Possibly consider transportation tax based on miles driven.

As stated in a recent Fredericksburg Free Lance Star article, this initiative is "all pain and no gain" for the citizens of Virginia. Imposing a significant tax on gas-powered vehicles while not taxing EVs, which actually cause a greater carbon deficit during their manufacture, is absurd.

I am a business owner and environmentally minded resident of Vermont. I am also an EV driver and have been since 2014. Since I purchased my first EV 7 years ago I have seen the number of electric vehicle in Vermont increase substantially, yet the charging infrastructure has remained almost unchanged. How can the state claim to encourage EV ownership and use without providing the charging infrastructure to support that? Specifically, Level II chargers are good for park and ride and workplace locations only. Regular drivers need Level III chargers in locations near stores, restaurants or other facilities in order to make EV's a viable option. Level II chargers in easy to find locations with multiple chargers. This is what Tesla did from the beginning. The gas car companies that are producing the rest of the EV's on the road are apparently not interested in providing the charging infrastructure to support their products, so it must then fall to the state. Level III chargers. The state does not need to expend any more funds on Level II chargers. These are inexpensive and businesses can provide these as a courtesy to their employees. Level III chargers allow EV drivers the freedom and mobility to take longer trips and go more places without worrying about running out of charge. Level III chargers please, and at least 4 at each location. Thank you

I do not supoport this initiative that puts America's economic needs at risk while other nations are given a waiver because they claim some "developing" status. If we are going to make the World better for all of us, we need a comprehensive, no-waivers, all nations plan of attack.
American can not and should not go it alone on this issue. We will all be long gone before this planet is no longer habitable (if that ever happens). The science on this issue to too mushy to proceed at this time.

I am supportive of the TCI-P. While it is not a perfect solution, it will move the ball forward to decrease air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, improve public health, and generate revenues to promote environmental justice. Transportation is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions in the DMV (DC/MD/VA) region, and dangerous particulates can lead to health problems like asthma. Sooner, rather than later, in order to solve these problems we need to move to a clean transportation system, and a clean-energy economy.

I strongly agree with the TCI-P, as it will advance protection of our environment both here in Vermont and across all of New England. I urge you to act on the TCI-P to improve our lifestyle while advancing care for our creation.

Transportation emissions are a huge driver of climate change, accounting for nearly half of Virginia’s carbon output, while also emitting toxic air pollution that falls disproportionately on low-income populations and communities of color.

The Transportation and Climate Initiative Program (TCI-P) is a welcome step forward to addressing this major source of pollution, while steering needed investments in a modern, sustainable transportation system.

Funding provided by the TCI-P could help with ongoing efforts to put more electric vehicles on the road in Virginia along with equitably distributed charging infrastructure across the state.

The TCI-P also presents the opportunity to drive investments in a cleaner transportation system in the communities that have suffered the most from vehicle pollution. While the model rule calls for at least 35 percent of TCI proceeds to go toward frontline, impacted communities, here in Virginia I would hope we go above and beyond that benchmark, investing at least half of our TCI revenue in programs and infrastructure that will lower this disproportionate pollution burden.

I hope this important framework moves forward for the good of our climate, our health and our future.
