Ensure we mandate that investment and policy decisions be made based on pollution reduction and equity goals, as well as robust engagement opportunities from the public‒particularly those most overburdened by transportation pollution and undeserved by our current transportation system. |

Thank you for boldly asking CT to focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Because transportation is our states' single largest source of these emissions, I hope you will support the Transportation & Climate Initiative. My family lives near the intersection of I-91 and Route 9, so we shouldn't have been surprised when our daughter developed asthma as a teen. But we were. And recent climate change reports have been eye opening. That's why I've attended TCI forums to learn more about the initiative. All I can say is that I'm impressed by their work to create a clean, equitable transportation system here in the Northeast. I hope you'll sign on to the TCI for the good of our people, businesses, infrastructure, and environment. Thank you. |

This proposal is nothing more than a money grab of the working class to support the non-working class who are able to work but choose not to. |

I do not support TCI because it will not benefit our customers, as most of them will never purchase an electric vehicle, nor do we have mass transit in our area. Pennsylvania already has one of the highest motor fuel taxes in the United States, and the additional 17 cents per gallon would put an additional hardship on our customers. |

TCI could bring significant economic, environmental, and health benefits to Maine communities. By redirecting some of the $5 billion a year we send out of state to fossil fuel companies into our local communities and sustainable transportation solutions, we could also address mobility and pollution problems- please choose to resolve this issue for humans and to counteract drastic air and climate concerns! |

northeast states are considering a program that would transform the transportation sector in this part of the country through the Transportation and Climate Initiative (TCI). Clean Air Council and other advocates across the region believe this is a critical step to improving transportation and addressing the climate crisis. If designed correctly, this program could help to create safe roads for biking and walking, more frequent and reliable public transportation, greater access to electric vehicles, and a more equitable system with cleaner transportation options for everyone in the region. Transportation is the country’s and region’s leading source of carbon emissions. With your support, we can truly make a change that will benefit the lives as well as health of the population and the planet we live on. Thank you. |

Additionally, we offer recommendations to ensure the process is inclusive.
We believe it is important for Maryland to perform this process and integrate feedback from communities and we look forward to working with you to make this community engagement process robust, inclusive and transparent.

This is the ultimate in bad policy. Though there maybe some localized areas within the TCI states that could benefit from some highly specific and targeted regulations (which probably already exist), levying additional taxes to all in the TCI states is unbalanced and unfair. Let's focus on ways to financially unburden those of us who actually go out and work for a living. |
