We have a responsibility to do what we can now to ensure that the risks of catastrophic climate change are mitigated. We know that continuing to pollute Earth’s atmosphere with greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels will cause more extreme flooding, drought, hurricanes, wildfires, heat, rapid sea level rise and the acidification of the oceans. Let’s reduce the risks to human and environmental health and to our economy by taking action now to scale down pollution from transportation. Thank you. |

Too many cars are on the road and far too many single passenger vehicles because America has not made public transportation a priority. In Charlottesville, too many busses run only once an hour, making it impractical to use the bus system. The argument is that not enough people use the bus; if the buses were easy to use, many more people, like myself, would be happy to use them. Bus stops are also difficult to reach. The closest bus stops to my house are half a mile away, or more. I cannot reach two of them because it requires walking along a road with only a very narrow shoulder and no sidewalk. This should be a priority, not new and bigger roads, and more parking lots. |

Demand from Legislators: cap and trade legislation, all vehicles be electric or hybrid, no more sprawl, tariffs on imports from carbon wasting countries. TRANSPORTATION: A plan that holds large transportation polluters accountable for the pollution they create and invests in clean transportation solutions including: More public transit and electric vehicle infrastructure in rural areas
Expansion of commuter rail, electric vehicles, and streets in the suburbs that are safe, walkable, and bikeable
Sustainable and equitable housing near transit and electric bus fleets in urban communities |

As an native Virginian from a family farm, I care deeply about air quality and climate change. As you create regional policy please include aggressive and impactful targets, most importantly a 25% (or higher) reduction in carbon dioxide emissions over the next 10 years. Additionally I feel zero tailpipe emissions investments should be a priority. Thank you for your work on these important issues. |

I very much appreciate Virginia’s efforts to reduce transportation emissions, which are a major contributor to climate change. And as a mom and fellow Virginian, I would implore lawmakers to consider more aggressive targets, which are essential for us to be able to reduce emissions enough to decarbonize before climate change is irreversible. Please consider at least a 25% reduction target over 10 years for all registered vehicles.
Please make zero tailpipe emission investments a priority. We all want our kids to grow up in with healthy air to breathe and a stable, healthy climate. Please act aggressively while we still have a window of opportunity to turn the tide on climate change.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Kay Campbell

Let's make it happen! |

I request that Virginia formally joins the plan to reduce emissions.
I demand that the policy has a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access.
Thanks for the bipartisan nature of this project, moving us forward while the Federal government takes us backward. |

You money grubbing people should be focusing on reducing the cost of government and not always finding ways to filch more money from the taxpayer ! Never ever do we hear about our " leaders" focusing on controlling costs like every family and business is constantly concerned with. Are we to believe that the state is functioning prudently and fiscally responsibly? I think not. You fools couldn't run a lemonade stand in a drought without going broke. TCI my ass. |
