This state doesn’t need another tax increase, no matter how you package it. This democratic run legislature thinks nothing of adding to the tax burden on the citizens of this state. How about finding ways to save money for the taxpayers? Ya’ know, sharpen the pencils. This is a bad idea that will hopefully affect your political aspirations. Then again, I am a Republican who voted Scott Brown and Geoff Diehl and has no desire to see any of you re-elected anyway. All I know is , there are ways to raise the money you so desperately crave, without stepping on us even harder. So pissed. Anybody can get elected and raise taxes. Make what you get from us work. Spend some time on the job.

I stand firmly against the TCI. It's not a climate initiative. It's a money grab from the already over burdened tax payers of Massachusetts. My family and I will be watching to see who votes for this travesty and we will vote against them in their next election.

any taxes or government imposed fees need to be public and voted on by roll call votes. I want to know who votes and how. Stop this subversive, secret abuse of power.

Never support a tax that isn't voted on by elected officials. If allowed, vote the official OUT!

It's sad that Governor Paul LePage didnt kill this looney toon plan while in office. It is now left to the left to impose another regressive tax upon the citizens . Oh joy. I swear with great regret at the infamy brought upon the once scenic and magnificent mountaintops of Maine covered with avian cusinarts paid for by ponzi schems like this fuel TAX. Sadly the base of it all is predicated upon a madness brought on by the desire to simply control the peasants and live upon their toil like leaches. Stop the madness of the religion of the climate change, carbon isnt the problem; greed is.

We here in Massachusetts are taxed enough already, in fact much higher than many other States. Our state government needs to be more accountable for how every existing tax dollar is spent and currently we believe the wasteful spending should be redirected within the existing budget. . This is why we oppose the Transportation and Climate Initiative (TCI) gasoline tax. TCI is not only an unnessary added tax, it is an attempt to bypass the democratic process by pushing through a tax increase without forcing the legislature to take a vote. Eliminating legislative procedure is a very slippery slope for Massachusetts. I do not support this California style gas tax hike and it is wrong for Governor Baker to pursue a tax increase without a legislative vote. Lawmakers are being completely excluded from the process, despite this being the exact task they were elected to carry out.

This is a tax given a name that tries to hide this tax attempt. A governor only approval is not right, this should be voted on by all ma citizens. Rational citizens would not approve of a income deduction. This tax is just wrong no matter of its made up issue.

This has bad idea written all over it. From the behind the scenes scheming to keep this from public vote, to the massive economic toll it will take on everyone and everything in the state and beyond. Raising fuel costs increases the costs not just of the fuel itself, but of all items that must be grown, packed, shipped, kept warm or cold and so on. Further this 'plan' has no defined budget, goals or metrics, and as such it will just be another sink hole of money. Shame on you polititions!

Another state tax coming our way, we just lost net pay from the medical and family tax.
