To work well, it needs to take me from... read more Public transportation is a necessary component of a thriving society - when it works well, it significantly reduces air pollution and traffic congestion. To work well, it needs to take me from where I am to where I need to go in a reasonable amount of time, under conditions that are reasonably pleasant, for a reasonable monetary cost. It will never be self-supporting; the subsidy is part of the cost of greasing the wheels of society and commerce. That said, public transportation is a nearly unique opportunity to cut back carbon emissions even further than just getting automobiles off the road: electric and hydrogen fueled busses and trains will aid this necessary new phase.	-

I believe it is important as soon as possible to reduce pollution from transportation which is the largest source of global warming emissions. Pennsylvania should formally join the plan to reduce emissions. The policy should have a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access. I am grateful for the bipartisan nature of this project, moving us forward while the federal government takes us backward.	-

We need more efficient trains, better roads and bridges. We look almost like a 3rd world country than one of the Best Countries in the World. Trump has done everything he can to remove all legislation that would improve the climate of world. In addition, Trump is also trying to do whatever he can to cause more pollution and add to the decline of this world. There is no "B" planet and if we want the human race to continue Trump not only needs to be stopped (Impeached and removed) and all the legislation that has been removed must be put back into enforcement.	-

I have asthma as do many Pennsylvanians and my symptoms have worsened and my dependency on pharmaceuticals to be able to breath has increased! Traffic congestion from millions of cars and trucks are polluting our lungs and planet more than ever before. But as we enter this new decade, we have an opportunity modernize how we get from point A to point B. We need to move quickly to address transportation emissions & shift to a cleaner transportation model if we are to have a prayer of averting the most catastrophic effects of the climate crisis. We need clean, high speed rail services to be expanded & we need ready access to charging stations for electric vehicles, support for cleaner alternative fuels & support for those among us who simply cannot afford hybrids or plug-in vehicles. Pennsylvania needs to join this effort & work aggressively toward our goal of a cleaner transportation grid.	-

The same pollution that all carbon brings today. That pollution is now showing just how destructive it can be. The possible outcomes that once sounded bizarre have become believable. The time has come to abandon carbon based energy and the engines it powers. Imagine how destructive that will be as we move to all electric transportation. We must embrace that new technology as we shield all those who gave their lives to providing us with a carbon based economy. This bipartisan project is a welcome first step that is much appreciated.	-

I am not a scientist or chemist, but I do know that diesel fuel is the cause of high air pollution in PA. More rail? More electric cars and buses for public transportation. The population is increasing, the trash from out of state is building up in our landfills! These last actions that I mention bring added stresses to our land and water sources. Although, agriculture still in practiced by the Plain Sects who live here, their knowledge of land usages, fertilizer and pesticides is limited. More education is needed concerning many of these problems!	-
