In particular... read more Responding to climate change is of utmost importance and deserves focused and aggressive attention, as soon as possible. I strongly support the Transportation and Climate Initiative. In particular, I am pleased with the wording "other pricing mechanism" because I stand in support of a carbon-fee-and-dividend approach to reducing carbon emissions. Whatever pricing mechanism is implemented, I am happy to see Pennsylvania moving toward a lower-carbon-emissions future. In the "putting your money where your mouth is" department, my husband and I purchased a Prius Prime on January 2. In 7-1/2 weeks, it has been driven over 1100 miles, used 8.5 gallons of gas, and thus has averaged 129 mpg so far. We charge it overnight, and our electricity is 100% wind generated. We can all do better, and I am in full support of Pennsylvania being part of the Transportation and Climate Initiative to achieve a cleaner and more sustainable climate future for us all.	-

We need to have a national policy to greatly reduce transportation pollution. There are currently no major US manufacturers making all electric trucks. This needs to change, as truck exhaust in the cities are a major pollution concern. People need to be given incentives to use public transportation that is cleaner, reliable and more convenient. Most of live paycheck to paycheck and rely on automobiles to get to work. RI has had years to improve public transportation and not done much. I don't see how this will help. This quote sums it up “From a practical standpoint, the RGGI program’s contribution to directly reducing the global accumulation of GHG emissions in the atmosphere is arguably negligible,” wrote researchers of the nonpartisan U.S. Congressional Research Service in a recently updated report about RGGI."	-

The cost of... read more I am against any gasoline tax increase in New Jersey to fight pollution and support electric vehicles and better public transit. The gasoline tax was increased in 2016 and 2018. The cost of living continues to increase in New Jersey. Working class and retired residents can't keep paying these tax increases. The only residents that can afford electric vehicles are high income residents. While electric vehicles do not use gasoline, fossil fuels are used to produce electricity. I also understand that the batteries used on electric vehicles are not environmentally friendly to dispose of.	-
