Such as shipping, gas fuel delivery, home heating services, mail, air travel, all service parts and most important grocery price increases. The states should inform the public that it is not necessary to preheat your vehicle prior to driving. Your vehicle will warm up in five to ten minutes faster at a normal speed. The senior citizens who are on a very strict budget will be effected the most, we do not get automatic increase on our retirement, as many of the politicians do. The public is sick and tired for being taken advantage of by the politicians who's salary is paid for by the citizen that elect them in the first place. Thank you, Bill |

Transportation is a major contributor. At the same time, traffic congestion has become unbearable in the Boston area. So all measures we can use to decrease greenhouse gas emissions while providing better mass transit must be brought to bear as rapidly as can be managed. The Transportation and Climate Initiative is therefore a good idea, and should be implemented with the greatest urgency. |

I believe that we are not doing enough to address climate change. Whether TCI will accomplish the intended results is very uncertain. For example, expecting electric vehicles to significantly reduce climate change gases [cgc] is not certain, since it depends on the energy source of the electric recharge, which is dependent on the time of the 24-hr day cycle. The most efficient recharge would come directly [I.e., direct current] from a solar panel. However, for various bureaucratic reasons this cannot be done.
Uncertainty is also caused by the fact that major fracking is occurring across the US, except the east coast itself and New England. This fracking is producing significant cgs, which are carried eastward, and northerly, by the predominant air flows. TCI will do nothing to address this problem from fracking, as well as the other problems from fracking.
Needed is a comprehensive model of how to address not only climate change but also create sustainability. This model has to demonstrate how the collective “we” can move society in a short period of time from a consumptive society to a sustainable one, with low carbon waste gases. It will address social and environmental justice, by moving each of us higher on the Maslow model, resulting in a culture that has a higher quality of life for all.

Some examples are electric cars, electric trains and buses, bicycles, and even scooters. In order to do this, we will have to enact regulations and laws, provide incentives through rebates, taxes, grants, etc., and develop new infrastructures, such as charging stations, bike/scooter paths, and rails/stations. If we fail to do this, our planet is destined to become much more difficult to live in and we will be spending far more money just to survive than we would have had we developed new modes of transportation. |

Your policies make people poor. You are a nut job to believe electric cars are the way of the future. If you drive up fuel cost you drive up the cost of government. Which will raise taxes. |

A cap on carbon emissions of at least 25% by 2032
An increase in the minimum investment in overburdened and underserved communities (>35%)
Request that investments be put towards active transportation like better sidewalks, bicycle infrastructure, and high quality public transit
According to a recently released study by Harvard and other institutions, if the program is designed appropriately, up to 1,100 lives can be saved annually, and the region could see $11 billion in health benefits each year.
Thank you. |

In fact the cost would be added on at retail which will increase tax on gas under our current formula. Complicated and costly with general public paying to enrich electricity providers, Electric car manufactures and public transportation they can't use. Those that purchase electric cars and get rebates are in the upper percentile of wage earners and million are paid out for tax credits they should not be receiving. TCI would be a very regressive tax and disproportionately affect the lower income who can't wait for a rebate or tax credit. This is just a plain bad initiative.

Public transportation is often prohibitively expensive (trains, for example, are never a cost effective option; buses are often not viable as well); an affordable choice would certainly help people public options over cars.
