Current energy alternatives such as wind and solar, and electric vehicles create a net increase in carbon footprint because the resources to mine and produce windmills, batteries, etc., uses more energy than is saved over the lifetime of the current technologies. This plan is bad for Maine residents.	-

We can not afford any new taxes. What is she planning on using the money for, a magic fan that will blow the CO2 into space? No. This is a guise to get more money to fund welfare programs for votes. It is democrat thievery. We are one of the highest taxed states in the country with some of the lowest salaries. We can not allow Mills to make us even more of a welfare state than we are. Businesses are leaving. Our youth are leaving in droves. This fossil fuel tax is not right for Maine, and we can not afford to live here if Mills and her democrat cronies are allowed to rob us into poverty.	-

They raise taxes to give themselves raises. The U.S. is not responsible for climate change, it has been changing since beginning of time. This will artificialy drive up fuel costs for the most vulnerable in the state. We have no control over these fuel rations yet what happens when we have an unusually cold winter and lets say with long term power outages. Then what, we pay the piper. What happens when the fuel carbon allowance is exceeded due to out of state visitors that we forget to factor in to the equation. Killington World Cup attracts thousands of SUVs. In the seventies, I was taught personal responsibility, and to spread that message. Now we teach our children that ineffective protesting is the only way forward. Teach your children how to be a custodian of the planet and stay out of my life. Climate change=corporate greed, not me and my family trying to survive on less and less. Take away everyones money and theyll quit polluting the planet. Start with Leo and Al?	-

The need for a cross-sector framework for regulating greenhouse gas emissions was identified during the investigative phase of the docket. Emission allowance auction was one of several approaches to regulation that was considered. It was an appealing, market-based approach well-suited for a period of utility restructuring. The TCI helps establish firm limits on greenhouse gas emissions while allowing flexibility in meeting the limits. It is three decades too late, but late is better than never. That the TCI only covers the transportation sector is a disappointment, but too narrow is better than not at all.	-

Transportation is vital as in a rural area; grocery stores, Doctor/Clinic visits, etc, all depend on transportation. There is no public transportation in most areas of Maine. Increasing taxes with no benefits adds to the price of fuel, the price of groceries; all areas of one's life. The regular folks can't afford any more financial stress. Raising fuel taxes will have a bad, damaging effect on the Residents of Maine.	-
